The Photo Today 2008 exhibition at Kanteerva Indoor Stadium, Bangalore, saw the official launch of Carl Zeiss lenses for Digital and Film SLR cameras, by ProPix. Available for the Nikon F mount and the Pentax K mount, these lenses bring with them the promise of performance levels that far exceed anything available in the market. 
The entire range of F Mount lenses for the Nikon Digital and Film SLR lenses including the Distagon T* f3.5 18mm, Distagon T* f2.8 25mm, Distagon T* f2 28mm, Distagon T* f2 35mm, Planar T* f1.4 50mm, Planar T* f1.4 85mm, Makro-Planar T* f2 50mm, Makro-Planar T* f2 100mm are available.

ProPix, the authorised stockist for Karnataka, said that Zeiss was very forthcoming in setting prices specially for the Indian market, such that it is cheaper to buy theses lenses in India, than to import them from overseas. The landed cost of the Carl Zeiss lenses are well below what an individual would pay if they were to import them and pay the usual duties and taxes.
